We are based on the north shore of Sydney, Australia and our runs usually start in Crows Nest

Our Mission

  • We are a running group
  • We care not for experience
  • Yet we want our experience to grow
  • We care not for speed
  • But we want our speed to increase
  • We care not for our running too serious.
  • Yet we do some serious running
  • We strongly encourage beginners
  • Because we’ve all been there ourselves
  • Though we do a lot of running
  • We do not only run
  • But we are a running group

Events

Every January we hold one of our signature runs. Starting form Manly Wharf, we hire a water taxi to take us to Watsons Bay. First stop is the light house pictured above at South Head. Then we run the southern and northern harbour foreshore back to Manly. The ambitious continue up to North Head, completing the Head to Head.

Club History

October 1993: Fitness coach Susan Griffith posted on the bulletin board at what is now Fitness First St Leonards, to invite runners to train for Six Foot Track Marathon. A club was born.

The group grew and diversified, and in April 2002 was incorporated as Northside Running Group (NRG). The week was augmented from a Saturday long run and Monday intervals session, to include more days and more running options. The club now has hundreds of members who look to NRG for the joy of running with other people, making new friends, and getting involved in running and social events near and far.

Legal

We are incorporated under the Associations Incorporated Act, 2009. Number: INC9877481

NRG acknowledges the Cammeraygal people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we run, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
